Tierra del Fuego Island

The island was discovered by Ferdinand Magellan, who called it Tierra del fuego (land of fire) because of the huge bonfires that the ona indians built on its shore. It is possible to travel around the island and see the petroleum processing plants of the Empresa Nacional del Petroleo (ENAP, the National Petroleum Company), visit sheep ranches, and go fishing.
