PALI AIKE NATIONAL PARK

THIS WAS AN ANTIQUE SETTLEMENT OF THE TEHUELCHES NATIVES WHO INHABITED THIS REGION. LOCATED 180 KM FAR AWAY FROM PUNTA ARENAS, DRIVING BY THE INTERNATIONAL ROUTE TO MONTE AYMOND, PASSING BY THE OLD RANCH BERNARDO O'HIGGINS.

PUERTO NATALES

FOUNDED IN 1911, THIS CITY IS THE CAPITAL OF THE PROVINCE OF ULTIMA ESPERANZA, AND IT IS LOCATED 254 KMS TO THE NORTH OF PUNTA ARENAS. ITS MAIN ENTRANCE GO ROUND THE EDGE OF THE SHORE, WHERE YOU WILL SEE A NUMBER OF SEA BIRDS, THIS ROUTE ENDS AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE PORT. ONCE IN NATALES, YOU CAN VISIT THE GLACIERS BALMACEDA AND SERRANO, SAILING THROUGH THE SENO ULTIMA ESPERANZA (ULTIMA ESPERANZA INLET). THIS IS A FULL DAY TRIP, FROM 08:00 TO 17:00 HRS.

END OF THE CONTINENT

The Sea´s cross located in Frowad Cape,almost facing the Pacific Ocean, in the southern point of the Southamerica continental territory,has converted it in a company sing for navegators who sail by the strait of Magellan.
It was the english corsair, Thomas Cavendish, who, in january of 1587, passing by this cape, divides the seas from Aets and west,named the place as froward Cape, fellingthe climate roughness with rains and winds. The name means hateful, hostile or unmanageable.
The Sea´s Cross was inagurated in April 1987 to testimonialize the visit of Juan Pablo II Pope to Punta Arenas. A plate on the feet of the cross ratifies the the meaning: "And dominate from one sea to another sea until the last confines of the earth".
It is the third crosson the Brunswick Peninsula rock. The wind, always present in this kind of climate, was in charge to demolish the other two sea crosses that were installed before.
